Artist call for Wildwood: Follow the Crows art trail

This August, we're excited to partner with LAIKA, Wild in Art, OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital, and the Portland Metro Chamber to bring Wildwood: Follow the Crows to life. This is a free, self-guided public art trail that winds through downtown Portland.

Nearly 6-foot-tall crow sculptures, designed by local and regional artists, will be placed throughout Downtown for everyone to discover, explore, and celebrate. Inspired by LAIKA’s upcoming stop-motion fantasy film Wildwood, a story deeply rooted right here in Portland, the trail transforms our public spaces into a citywide canvas of color, imagination, and community.

At the end of the trail, sculptures will be auctioned to benefit OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, continuing a tradition of public art with real, lasting impact for kids across our region. After the incredible energy that Coraline’s Curious Cat Trail generated in summer 2024, we’re thrilled to bring this experience back downtown.

Artists: we want your vision

Downtown Portland is yours to reimagine. We’re looking for local and regional artists to design one-of-a-kind crow sculptures that will take flight across the city. Submit a design to decorate a Wildwood crow sculpture, and yours could be one of the standout installations displayed across downtown. This is a chance to bring color, whimsy, and storytelling to the streets where tens of thousands of residents, visitors, and families spend their time.
